Monday June 20th - Day 17

Day 17 - 300 Miles - San Bernardino CA -> Santa Monica Pier (End Route 66) -> Morro Bay, CA

Big mile stone today, we reached the End of Route 66 and walked the Santa Monica Pier today.

Before leaving San Bernardino we stopped to see Bono's Giant Orange. I have seen a orange like this on Hwy 99 towards Fresno but its not in this good of condition.

Traffic was not as bad traveling through town as we feared but we made it to the pier in about 3 1/2 hours. It was a beautiful day and the temp was perfect to walk around the pier.

 We got some fellow Route 66 travelers to take our picture for us at the End of the trail.

After walking around muscle beach and checking out the carousel we hit the road for home. We made it as far as Morro Bay, CA.  Tomorrow will be our last day on the road. It will feel good to be home again, after all there is no place like home.
