My God this section of the US is windy, literally never stops blowing
We got up and hit the road again after our fun filled stay at the Route 66 Casino. Sorry to report that we did not hit it big, thus the continuation of this blog.
The shop above was located at the Continental Divide.
The scenic driving across New Mexico is very colorful and desolate.
This is the Tomahawk Indian Store just across the AZ boarder
We drove through the Petrified Forest or Painted Desert which ever you prefer. The park is vast and very colorful with lots of interesting shapes and landmarks.
The rocks use to be trees that fell over and became petrified over thousands of years.

Down the road in Holbrook AZ we stopped at the Wigwam Motel where you can sleep in a concrete Tee Pee.
I hope they are bigger in the inside than they look on the outside.
Well, I'm a standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me.

Across the street is a gift shop with shirts and stuff and down the street is the Winslow Museum.
Off we went to see Meteor Crater.
The crater looks big but is actually in the low 10% in size of the Craters that exist around the world however this crater is the best preserved and used by scientist to study how meteor craters are formed compared to those that are create by volcanic activity.
At the center of the crater is a drill site where drilling occured to look for the meteor that hit the earth, however only small pieces about the size of your fist were ever found in the crater.
We made it to Flagstaff AZ for the night and tomorrow we will going to see the Grand Canyon.
